ARTMA Team Visits Several Locations Across Anambra In Order To Ease Road Traffic During The Holiday Season
In preparation for the festive period, the ARTMA team today visited several locations around Anambra state.
The Traffic Light By Amawbia By-pass
Road signs have been installed to authorize road users coming from the Enugu-Onitsha express way going towards Nawfia to use the turn before the traffic light. Before now, the road was permanently blocked for no reason. With this, such vehicles will not have to wait for the traffic light to turn green hereby decongesting the long queue always experienced there.
Afor-Igwe Market Dunukofia
Road traders have all been asked to permanently leave the road, road signs have also been mounted on the stretch of the road. Bus stop signs have been fixed away from the junctions and our officers are on ground to enforce this.
Awkuzu Junction Oyi L.G.A
Transporters are fond of discharging passengers by the road side when we have Government approved parks by Awkuzu junction. We have placed signs there to warn such drivers. Henceforth, any driver that doesn’t use the parks will have himself to blame.
Toll Gate Ogbunike
We revisited the toll gate where we stopped truck drivers from parking on the road signs. We had hundred percent (100%) compliance as no truck was seen parked there but some of the signs were damaged. We re-installed the damaged signs.
Borromeo Roundabout
Days back, we advised the Keke (Tricycle) operators on the road by the roundabout to use the park beside seaman filling station. We placed signs clearly stating KEKE NOT ALLOWED. Unfortunately for seven (7) Keke (Tricycle) riders, we impounded them there today loading passengers.
Borromeo – Upper Iweka – Head Bridge Bus Stops
For clarity, ARTMA fixed road signs along this route to communicate to commercial drivers where authorized bus stops are along the axis.
Signs of NO PARKING were mounted by the express lane of the Upper Iweka flyover. Buses are allowed to load only on the service lane there.
Ndi Anambra, ARTMA advices us all to obey this signs to avoid impoundment of your vehicles.
