ARTMA Team Pays Unscheduled Visit To Eke-Awka Market To Access Traders And Drivers Compliance
ARTMA DIARY
Thursday, 6th July 2023
When last did you drive through the Eke-Awka market?
Today, the ARTMA team paid an unscheduled visit to access the vehicle and trader’s compliance in Eke-Awka and it can be said to be above 80 percent.
Recall, a few months ago, Mr Governor Prof Charles Soludo barricaded the market to ensure, traders didn’t trade on the road.
ARTMA was mandated to also ensure the traders were kept in check behind these barricades and commercial/private vehicles relocated from the roundabout to ensure the free flow of traffic.
Before now, motorists get stuck around Eke-Awka but it doesn’t take you 3 minutes to drive through now.
We encourage those traders and commercial drivers to continue to comply as the agency will not hesitate to impound goods and vehicles that default.
