Conversation With Anambra Keke (Tricycle) Riders At Onitsha
ARTMA REPORT
Sunday 21st January 2024.
As promised, ARTMA, led by its MD/CEO, Engr Okonkwo Emeka-Konti, met with representatives of the Anambra Keke (Tricycle) riders in Onitsha to discuss various modes of operation.
Recall that on Thursday, the keke riders complained about uncertainties about approved bus stops for them around the Owerri road and environs after the agency installed the ‘NO LOADING – USE THE PARK’ signs for commercial vehicles that hitherto used the express lanes as parks.
It was a peaceful deliberation as Engr Okonkwo stated that the keke riders won’t need bus stops considering the nature of their picking and dropping off passengers, but MUST completely park by the shoulder of the road.
“Any rider seen parked beside another will be impounded. You can only pull over in front or behind the already parked Keke” – he continued.
Appreciation from the representatives concludes the meeting.
