ATTENTION – Commercial Bus Drivers Around The Bridge Head Onitsha
ARTMA DIARY
Wednesday, 8th November 2023
The Agency, as directed by Mr Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has embarked on road markings and sign inscriptions across the state to ensure that road users are properly guided.
Henceforth, all commercial vehicles around Onitsha (buses, shuttles, and tricycles – keke) have an option of moving into any park of choice in the area but MUST NOT be seen loading/unloading on the road.
All commercial vehicle doors must be shut once they leave the park. Any commercial vehicle seen with open doors on the bridge means the driver either wants to pick up or discharge on the bridge, as we have noticed that passengers walk into the bridge to catch a bus.
Any bus that defaults on these rules will be impounded for seven (7) days without an option of a fine.
In our previous post, we advised passengers to stay off the major lane on the bridge and stick to the pedestrian lane.
Strict adherence is hereby advised.
