ARTMA TEAM Arrive At The Scene Of A Road Accident At Immigration Junction, Awka
ARTMA REPORT
Sunday, 11th June 2023
At about 8.45 am, we received a distress call about an accident that occurred at the immigration junction.
A Dangote truck carrying over 600 bags of cement lost control while approaching the immigration junction and ran into a PMS truck loaded with 33,000 liters of petrol. Both trucks fell and blocked the Onitsha bound lane of the express.
Officers of the fire service headed by Agbili Martin Agility immediately came to the rescue to ensure there was no fire outbreak.
Road diversions were put in place to cordon off the area, as any little spark would be very dangerous.
At about 5 pm, the cement and PMS trucks were successfully trans-loaded and trucks towed to safe locations.
No casualty was recorded.
Plenty thanks to Mr Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo through the MD of Anambra road maintenance agency who ensured palliatives were done on the Enugu bound lane a few days back.
It could have been disastrous if the roads were still bad as many cars would have been affected.
ARTMA advises road users to avoid any activity that would distract them while driving and pay full attention to road signs as defaulters would not be spared.
