ARTMA M.D/C.E.O Engr. Emeka Okonkwo Visits Awka With His Team To Fix The Traffic Gridlock At Eze Uzu (Immigration) Junction

The Eze Uzu (immigration) junction Awka has over the years been known for accidents and traffic gridlock especially during rush hours.

ARTMA led by the MD/CEO Engr. Okonkwo Emeka (Konti Komplete), having analyzed the cause of this moved into action.

We understand how busy the intersection is because of vehicles coming from Esther Obiakor towards Finotel and back, those coming from Aroma and intend to make a U-turn, those from Finotel that intend to drive to Aroma, from Aroma and want to access Esther Obiakor etc.

Henceforth, Vehicles driving from Aroma towards Enugu are advised to maintain their lane on the express until immediately after the junction where the diversion sign is placed.

The NO-ENTRY sign is clearly placed on the new diversion area so that impatient drivers from Enugu who quickly want to jump back on the untarred road and drive against traffic will be warned that it is an offence.

Most accidents that has occurred by that junction has been as a result of truck drivers from Aroma trying to negotiate into the lane of vehicles coming from Enugu. Such drivers who are not conversant with the road realize late that the road ends by the junction and their brakes fail. With all this road signs, this drivers will be pre-informed before the junction.

Many thanks to the Hon. Commissioner for Works and the M.D of ARTMA who assisted our agency with palliatives that made the untarred section of the AWKA- ENUGU motorable.

We understand this is a temporary measure to ease the traffic situation in the Eze Uzu junction especially during this festive period.

Ndi Anambra, we urge all road users to please obey all road signs as we work hard and smart to make sure the dream of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for a traffic free Anambra state comes true.
